I’m so excited to announce that a lifelong dream of mine has finally come true! Along with my sister-in-law, we have created a new and really fun podcast about… you guessed it!… all things Disney!

Sisters of Main Street will be bringing weekly episodes full of exciting discussions, fun park tips and tricks, and an appreciation of every facet that is Disney with upbeat and sometimes silly conversations provided by some very addicted Disney Divas!

While I haven’t been as active on the blog lately, I hope you have been following my instagram @_thedisneydiva where I post constantly!

Happy Birthday Disneyland!

On July 17, 1955, Disneyland in Anaheim California opened its doors to a crowd of anxious people ready to explore the wonders of this new land!

The park has been through a whirlwind of changes over the past 63 years.

It’s such a historic place and Disney lovers like myself enjoy the nostalgia of it all. I’m hoping to make it out there next year for the D23 Expo and will absolutely spend a few days enjoying all Disneyland has to offer!

Keeping it old-school in memory of all that Disney has brought us over the years, I’m leaving you with a happy birthday wish from the first Disney princess ever!

Tower of Terror Is On Its Way Out

Ok, time to be completely honest. Walt Disney World is my soul animal, yes, everything about it I love love love. But sadly, I am inherently petrified of most rides and have not attempted to ride such classics as Splash Mount, Space Mountain, or… you guessed it… the Tower of Terror.

Does that make me any less of a Disney parks fan? No way! I’m grieving the loss of this iconic horror ride just like all the fanatics because it’s just that – an icon! The Tower of Terror is one of those rides that taunts you as you walk by, and it’s a lot of fun to watch the brave riders take the plunge, even from the safety of the ground below. And when you go to Disneyland, the ride pops out above the fences and you can see it from the street! Seriously. The ride has made an impression on me very strongly.

Now, I really enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and I understand that it’s new and exciting and can agree that it should have a super cool ride in its honor. Although I don’t think the film deserves it more than some others (just saying), Disney is responding to something I’m sure, and today I can say confidentially that the good folks at Disney have no plans of changing there minds.

That’s because on Monday, the infamous sign which reads “The Hollywood Tower Hotel” was removed from the front of the Tower of Terror building.

The Disneyland Resort removed the sign on the top of the Tower of Terror attraction at Disney California Adventure Monday night. The sign said “The Hollywood Tower Hotel.” This is being done in preparation for the new Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission Breakout version for the ride that will open in 2017. The ride closes Jan. 2. The final ride will take place in early January, and then, the attraction will be transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT

Mickey’s New Look at Disneyland!

Mickey Mouse is strutting his stuff and looking newer and fresher with an updated appearance that was revealed at the end of Disneyland’s 60th Diamond Celebration! Check out that fresh face and big, animated eyes! I love it!

At Inside the Magic’s page, they have a great clip of the “new” Mickey Mouse as he trots down Main Street and meets with his adoring fans. Check it out below. I wonder if he will make the trip over to Disney World so that I can get a picture with him next time I get down to Florida. Or maybe I’ll just need to go back to Disneyland for trip #4 – no complaints there!

Just hearing the sounds of the Magic Kingdom makes me so nostalgic. It’s always a bittersweet journey to scan through the thousands and thousands of Disney park videos, both professional and amateur ones. *sigh*

It’s Christmas Time!

Finally! The turkey-dinner is over and now it’s time to focus on the best time/holiday/season of the year! CHRISTMAS

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon shopping for the perfect tree to bring home, and relished in the nursery as they cut my tree, as I allowed the smell of pine and vanilla candles to fill me up! I just can’t wait to decorate it.

Some might say that I purchased my lovely tree too early. Crazy, right? I mean, the folks at Disneyland began decorating their trees back on November 13th. No, really!

Check out the video, I’m not making this up.

Besides, tomorrow is December 1st, and the best way to kick off the most magical month of the year is by singing carols while trimming the tree!

 

Guess who went to Disneyland? (again!)

It was a surprise visit, completely last minute, but I went to Disneyland for the third time a couple of weeks ago… and it was AWESOME!

I’m truly bumming about being back here, to be honest, I never wanted to leave! I saw all the wonderful events in honor of Disneyland’s 60th Diamond Anniversary. It was so beautiful. They were also beginning to decorate for Christmas, and I have never been to Disney during Christmas so it was really exciting!

I only had two-full magical days there, but from open to close, this Diva was walking the parks! It was a fabulous time! Now, I have to plan a trip to WDW. It simply has to happen!
