This weekend was chock full of Disney movies, mainly because I was super sick with my FIRST COLD OF THE SEASON!
I found myself reaching for some strong, empowering female-lead movies as well. Not sure why, but anyways, Princess Merida from Brave is a great “spokesperson” for this role! Her whimsy and independence are truly endearing. Merida, you rock!
October!!! I love October, it’s my second favorite month in the entire year (following December, of course)!!!
So many awesome great exciting things happen in October, especially up here in New England. It’s cool, beautiful, comfy, rejuvenating, and sometimes just a little spooky!
We got the Salem Witch Trial thing up the road, we’re known for being the location where Hocus Pocus was filmed, and it’s easy to believe that mischief and mayhem can occur on our cobblestone streets littered with colorful leaves. *sigh* It really is beautiful right now.
To get in the mood for the “mischief” October brings, I decided to find out What My Disney Villain Name was, by checking out this quiz.
No surprise, I got the magically deceiving Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. Not only is that one of my all time favorite movies, I think that Dr. F is a great villain! However, I’m not exactly sure I relate to these “traits” the way the quiz believes I do…

A fifth Pirates movie is on its way for 2017. And that would be: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
These movies are getting darker and darker, which is cool. I really loved the first and second movie, but haven’t seen the fourth one yet. Maybe a Pirate Movie Marathon is in order?…

Rainy, dark, and chilly. Yes, it is finally autumn – hooray! But this dark weather is making me want to go home and curl up with a nice comfy blanket, some hot chocolate, and binge-watch Disney movies! What am I talking about… I ALWAYS want to be curled up watching Disney movies! 🙂
Up, up, and away!
Boy what a week this has been. What made it even harder to concentrate at my desk job was knowing that my wonderful parents are vacationing at Walt Disney World as we speak! #Jealous!
It’s cool, though. They totally deserve time at the park and, seeing as I have been there multiple times without them, I really can’t complain (too much…).
But maybe just knowing that they are in the happiest place on earth is causing me to daydream, and in my daydreaming I am flying around, up and over the magical park. So naturally, today’s Fun Fact relates to Up!
One badge has a burger with a candle in it, referencing director Pete Docter’s favorite bakery, Merritt Baker, in Oakland. Another pin shows a perforated paper, typically used by 2D animators to line up drawings correctly. Lastly, there is a multicolored pinwheel reminiscent of Apple computers’ “hang” icon.
Super cool, huh? Those sneaky peeps at Pixar never miss an opportunity to add some hidden messaged in their movies! That’s what keeps them so interesting!
Ok, time to be completely honest. Walt Disney World is my soul animal, yes, everything about it I love love love. But sadly, I am inherently petrified of most rides and have not attempted to ride such classics as Splash Mount, Space Mountain, or… you guessed it… the Tower of Terror.
Does that make me any less of a Disney parks fan? No way! I’m grieving the loss of this iconic horror ride just like all the fanatics because it’s just that – an icon! The Tower of Terror is one of those rides that taunts you as you walk by, and it’s a lot of fun to watch the brave riders take the plunge, even from the safety of the ground below. And when you go to Disneyland, the ride pops out above the fences and you can see it from the street! Seriously. The ride has made an impression on me very strongly.
Now, I really enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and I understand that it’s new and exciting and can agree that it should have a super cool ride in its honor. Although I don’t think the film deserves it more than some others (just saying), Disney is responding to something I’m sure, and today I can say confidentially that the good folks at Disney have no plans of changing there minds.
That’s because on Monday, the infamous sign which reads “The Hollywood Tower Hotel” was removed from the front of the Tower of Terror building.
The Disneyland Resort removed the sign on the top of the Tower of Terror attraction at Disney California Adventure Monday night. The sign said “The Hollywood Tower Hotel.” This is being done in preparation for the new Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission Breakout version for the ride that will open in 2017. The ride closes Jan. 2. The final ride will take place in early January, and then, the attraction will be transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT
